This section we introduce to N+1 Protection Configuration.
N+1 Configuration means if any one of N working channels is interrupted, the traffic will be switched to the standby channel (2≤N≤7).
  • If the services on multiple working channels fail at the same time, those on the channel with the highest priority are switched to the protection channel.
  • A smaller working channel number indicates a higher priority. The working channel can be configured on the EMS.
  • The protection channel has the lowest priority. TDM services can be configured on the protection channel, but will be interrupted if a working channel fails. In this case, the protection channel is used to transmit the TDM services on the failed working channel.

2+1 Protection Configuration
  • In 2+1 configuration, standby ODU via combiner connected to 2+0 XPIC Configuration, two main channel and one standby channel can transmit overtwo different frequency points.
  • The required material of the 2+1 protection configuration nodal site is shown in the following table:

3+1 Protection Configuration

  • In 3+1 configuration, two 2+0 XPIC environment are connected to the same antenna via combiner, and the two 2+0 XPIC environment using two different frequency points, so there are four separate working channels (two H polarization and two V polarization), select one channel as standby, the other as the primarily.
  • The required material of the 3+1 protection configuration nodal site is shown in the following table:

Nodal Configuration

  • NR8250 supports the hybrid configuration of 1+0, 1+1 HSB/SD/FD and XPIC, the station has this kind of configuration is usually called Nodal site. The maximum direction of each IDU is 6.
  • A nodal site with 2×(1+0) + 2×(1+1) HSB hybrid configuration is shown in the following figure:

The required material of the nodal site is shown in the following table:
